EMUNI Mobility Visit to Galala University

As part of EMUNI’s ongoing commitment to enhancing cooperation across the Euro-Mediterranean Higher Education Area, prof. Polona Oblak, Head of Network Development at EMUNI, conducted a mobility visit to Galala University in Egypt within the framework of the Erasmus+ programme.

During the visit, Ms. Oblak met with the President, the Vice President for International Cooperation, and several faculty representatives of Galala University. The discussions focused on:

  • Expanding student and staff mobility in both directions

  • Developing joint and double degree master’s programmes

  • Planning cooperation in future EMUNI Summer Schools

  • Exploring joint research opportunities in sustainability, digital transformation, and intercultural dialogue

The mobility also included a comprehensive visit to Galala University’s campus, offering insight into its academic environment, laboratories, and student services.

In addition, Ms. Oblak met with representatives of the Slovenian Consulate in Cairo to discuss ways to facilitate mobility procedures—particularly in relation to visa support for incoming and outgoing students and staff.

This mobility further strengthens the foundation for long-term collaboration between EMUNI and Galala University, particularly in areas of joint academic programming, capacity-building, and cross-cultural engagement. It also contributes to EMUNI’s mission of building meaningful academic bridges across the Mediterranean and supporting inclusive, sustainable internationalisation.
