Recognition of foreign education for the purpose of continuing education
Candidates who hold a foreign educational certificate and wish to continue their education in a study program in the Republic of Slovenia must obtain a decision on recognition of prior education for the purpose of continuing education (hereinafter: decision on recognition). Candidates who already hold a decision on recognition must follow the instructions for submitting evidence of meeting the admission requirements and submit the decision along with all supporting documents via the eVŠ portal.
For candidates who do not yet have a decision on recognition, the completed electronic application form for study in eVŠ also serves as an application for the recognition of foreign education.
Candidates who submit an incomplete application for the recognition of education for further education purposes will be individually informed in writing or via the eVŠ portal about the requirement and deadline for completing the application.

Recognition Process
- Candidates submit e-copies or photos of the required documents via the eVŠ portal (together with the application to the study programme).
- The University Admission Office requests the issuing institution for verification of the certificate(s).
- If the Admission Office does not receive the verification of the issuing institutions the candidate will be requested to submit original legalised certificates.
- A competent commission at the university decides on the recognition and issues a decision.
- The official decision is posted on the eVŠ portal.
The list of required documents for the recognition process may vary depending on the country of origin of the educational certificate.
A positive decision on recognition is one of the admission requirements.
