Call for Nomination: Appointment of EMUNI Ambassadors for 2025
The Euro-Mediterranean University (EMUNI) announces the annual call for the nomination of EMUNI Ambassadors.
The EMUNI Ambassador title is a prestigious and honorary recognition awarded to individuals who have demonstrated exceptional achievements and contributed significantly to fostering international cooperation, the development of knowledge, and intercultural dialogue within the Euro-Mediterranean region.
About the EMUNI Ambassador Title
The appointment as an EMUNI Ambassador recognises exceptional academics, researchers, public figures, artists, sportsmen and sportswomen who embody EMUNI’s values and advance collaboration across the Northern and Southern Mediterranean. Ambassadors are key actors in amplifying EMUNI’s voice and vision, reinforcing connections between cultures, people, and institutions.
A maximum of two EMUNI Ambassadors will be appointed annually, one representing the Southern Mediterranean countries and one representing the Northern Mediterranean countries.
Eligibility and Nomination Guidelines
Nomination Process:
- Candidates may be nominated by any official EMUNI body, adhering to the guidelines set forth in this public call.
- Self-nominations are not accepted.
Required Documents for Each Nomination:
- Curriculum Vitae (CV): Including details of academic qualifications, scientific, sporting or artistic achievements.
- Evidence of Knowledge Sharing and Collaboration: Documented evidence of active collaboration with other universities and/or countries, as well as experience in intercultural communication.
- Community and International Engagement: Evidence of contributions to the development of the local community and the promotion of academic and/or international cooperation.
- Justification Letter: A detailed justification explaining why the candidate is deemed suitable to be an EMUNI Ambassador and how they will contribute to advancing EMUNI’s international role and expanding its network.
- Candidate’s Agreement: A signed written agreement by the candidate expressing their willingness to be appointed as an EMUNI Ambassador.
Role and Responsibilities of EMUNI Ambassadors
Selected EMUNI Ambassadors are entrusted with:
- Promotion of EMUNI’s Values: Actively promoting EMUNI and its mission within their home institution, local communities, academic and professional networks, and the media.
- Strengthening EMUNI’s Network: Helping to develop and reinforce cooperation within the EMUNI network in areas such as study programmes, research initiatives, and student and scholar exchanges.
- Engagement in Activities: Participating in activities at both the local and international level that support EMUNI’s mission to foster intercultural dialogue, science diplomacy, and regional collaboration in the Euro-Mediterranean context.
- Annual Reporting: Submitting an annual report to the competent EMUNI body, detailing their activities and contributions as an Ambassador.
- Feedback and Improvement: Providing constructive feedback to EMUNI to support the continuous enhancement of its initiatives and programmes.
Selection Process and Timeline
Following the close of nominations, a dedicated committee of EMUNI representatives will assess all submissions. The committee will propose up to two Ambassadors, one from the Northern Mediterranean countries and one from the Southern Mediterranean countries, based on the outlined criteria and the merits of the candidate’s nomination. The Committee submits the proposal to the EMUNI management board, which carries out the final appointment.
