What are the admission requirements for this programme?
For master’s programmes the general admission requirements are a completed Bachelor’s degree from a specific field of study. As these may vary for each programme please take a look at the site of the specific programme that you are interested in.
For doctoral programmes the general admission requirements are a completed accredited Master’s degree (120 ECTS).
Is there an application fee?
Yes, the application fee is 120 EUR and should be paid when you submit your application.

What is the application deadline?
The application deadline is the date when the applications close and the last day you can submit your application. If at the first application period the places available for each programme will not be filled we will open a second application period.

How do I apply as an international student?
It is very easy to apply as all applications and documents are submitted electronically.
All applications must be submitted online on the national application portal https://portal.evs.gov.si/prijava/

Do I need to take an English language test (e.g., IELTS, TOEFL)?
It depends – if your Bachelor education was in English language or you are an English native speaker you do not need to take an English language test. A statement of your university that your Bachelor’s programme was delivered in English is sufficient.
If this is not the case, then you will have to submit the relevant proof of proficiency.
What documents are required for the application?
You must submit a degree certificate, a transcript of records, a proof of English proficiency, a short chronological description of your education and a copy of your passport.

Can I apply if I haven’t received my degree certificate yet?
Yes, you can apply but you must submit your degree certificate by the application deadline.
Not submitting the certificate in time means that you do not meet admission requirements and your application will be rejected.
How long does the admission process take?
The process can take a couple of months as we need to first verify your diploma certificate with your university, if all your documents are in order and the verification has been successful an admission commission will check the fulfilment of the admission requirements and issue an admission letter. This is issued after the applications are closed. When you receive an admission letter you will receive instructions for enrolment which is the last step in the application process. Candidates are informed of their application status regularly.

What is the tuition fee for this program?
The tuition fee’s are different for each programme. All fees are published on the website of each programme and on the page https://emuni.si/tuition-and-fees/
Are there any scholarships or financial aid available?
Yes, EMUNI offers an opportunity for a partial scholarship award. Please look at the call for applications on the website in this link https://emuni.si/scholarships/
Are there tuition discounts for students from specific countries or partner universities?
Candidates applying through the EMUNI Knowledge and Innovation centre in Egypt, Maroko, Tunisia, Algeria and Lebanon can receive a 10% discount on the tuition fee.
Can I work part-time while studying?
Students enrolled in Slovene universities can work through an instrument called “Student Work.” This allows temporary and part-time work for students without applying for a work permit.
International Students
Do I need a visa to study in your country?
Students from third countries (non EU and Balkan countries) must obtain a visa or a temporary residence permit. Please read more about this on the website https://studyinslovenia.si/live/visa-and-residence-permit/
Can the university help with the visa process?
The university will support you in this process – we will send you an invitation letter to submit with your documents at the Embassy or Consulate. In certain cases we can also submit the application for the temporary residence on your behalf, but you still must provide all the necessary documents.
What is the cost of living in the city/country?
Depending on your lifestyle and preferences the cost of living may vary:
Housing from 200 EUR for shared room to 500 EUR for studio apartment
- Transportation – monthly ticket 10 EUR
- Mobile services – 20 – 30 EUR monthly
- Food and groceries – approx. 150 – 250 EUR
Taking into account subsidized meals the average living costs for students can be between 400 and 700 EUR.

Academic Information
What is the duration of the program?
Master programmes are 2 years and an extra graduation year for preparing your master’s thesis.
Doctoral programmes are 3 years and an extra graduation year for finishing the doctoral dissertation.
What is the structure of the curriculum?
This varies for each programme. Please see the website of each programme for details.
Are there internship opportunities included in the program?
In the Intercultural Business Communication Programme there is an Internship included in the programme.
Other programmes do no include a mandatory internship. The student may however apply for a mobility programme for an internship even if the programme does not include a mandatory internship.
What is the language of instruction?
The language of instruction in all our programmes is English.
Are there any online or blended learning options?
All our programmes are delivered in blended learning mode. One part of the programme is delivered online and one part is delivered on campus. Usually there is a face-to-face period in each semester when students are expected to be present in Piran.
However, students may live in Piran also when the classes are online. This is a personal decision of the student.

Yes, EMUNI University’s campus and its surroundings in Piran, Slovenia, are considered very safe. What kind of jobs can I get after graduating?
That depends on the individual programme. Job opportunities are listed on each programme website.
Does the university offer career support or job placement services?
The university has a career center to support students with the tools for searching their career opportunities.
Where are alumni working now?
Alumni have found jobs in Slovenia, France, Austria, Italy, UK, Germany, Lebanon and Dubai in job positions such as marketing, copywrite, language professor, translator, global sales, manager etc. Some of the alumni are also pursuing doctoral degrees.
Partnerships & Mobility
Are there Erasmus+ or exchange programs available?
The Erasmus+ exchange program is available to all EMUNI students. This program allows students to study or do an internship abroad for a certain period, usually through partnerships between universities across Europe and beyond. The aim of the program is to promote international mobility, the acquisition of new knowledge, experiences, and intercultural competencies. Students must apply for the mobility exchange.
Can I study abroad or do a semester at a partner institution?
You can study abroad and complete a semester at a partner institution. Many universities offer exchange programs, that enable students to gain international experience while earning study credits toward their degree.
