The 18th International Symposium in Management (SIM 2025) was held in Timișoara, Romania, on 24 and 25 October, bringing together academics, researchers, and practitioners under the theme “Optimizing the Future: Management Innovation for a Sustainable World.”
At the symposium, the Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education project MORHEL (MORoccan Higher Education Leadership) was prominently presented, showcasing its objectives, achievements, and national impact.
The presentation highlighted the strategic importance of leadership development for higher education transformation, the structure and outcomes of the National Leadership Development Programme, and the establishment of the National Leadership Development Centre (NLDC) as a sustainable national platform for leadership training.
In addition to the project presentation, a scientific paper titled “Designing Leadership Programmes in Higher Education: The Case Studies of Morocco and Kosovo & Albania” was presented at the conference. The paper, scheduled for publication in December 2025, includes an in-depth case study of project MORHEL, demonstrating how structured, competency-based leadership programmes can foster governance innovation, strengthen collaboration, and institutional resilience in Morocco’s higher education system. From Morocco, the co-author contributing to the paper is Prof. Salim Bounou from the Euromed University of Fes.
