Learning and assessment

The study programmes at EMUNI are delivered in blended learning mode through a combination of lectures, seminars, tutorials, online learning and self-directed learning. This offers possibilities to combine study and work. Small classes promote teamwork, close interaction with instructors, and the most effective acquisition of knowledge.

Programmes can include field visits, in company training and internships.

Students can benefit from a mobility option, where they take part in a semester-long study abroad programme at a partner institution of their choice or doing an internship through the ERASMUS+ Mobility Programme.

The delivery of online and face-to-face teaching varies in different programmes. In the IBC programme there are on average two face-to-face teaching periods per academic year lasting approximately 6 weeks each, with online teaching taking place for the remainder of the time.

Other programmes are delivered on the basis of 30 % online teaching and 70 % face-to-face teaching.

Students must have access to a computer, webcam and speakers and a good internet connection to follow the online learning.

Attendance policy at EMUNI is at least 75 % of attendance to be eligible to attend final examinations.

Assessment methods include written assignments, online quizzes, oral presentations, oral/written exams, group assignments, project work, capstone projects and other modes of assessment.

To complete a master’s programme students must prepare and defend a Master Thesis.

To complete a PhD programme students pursue individual research work with the guidance of a supervisor, publish a scientific paper, present their research achievements, actively participate in a scientific conference and prepare and defend a doctoral dissertation.
