A 4-day study visit and research meeting of the EU project LEADHEGA started today at EMUNI University in Koper, bringing together partners from Georgia, Azerbaijan, Slovenia, Ireland and Malta to develop leadership in higher education. Participants were welcomed by EMUNI President prof. dr. Rado Bohinc, who outlined how Slovenian higher education is organised, comparing governance models and reflecting on the implications of strong institutional autonomy and academic ethics.

A key highlight was the presentation of Module 8 on Organizational Improvement Projects, which supports universities in moving from strategy documents to concrete, evidence-based change initiatives through problem framing, process mapping, root-cause analysis and SMART objectives, with clear KPIs and implementation roadmaps. The programme also featured Module 1 (Strategic Leadership and Governance), ensuring that Module 8 remains grounded in broader debates on governance and leadership ahead of the pilot phase in Georgia and Azerbaijan.
