Today I’m living in Slovenia, studying for my Master’s degree, and finally pursuing my dream life. I came to Slovenia through the Education Pathway initiative, a programme that offers students a second chance, a chance to learn, to grow, and to be seen. I was awarded the Ad futura scholarship and admitted into the Master’s programme in Kinesiology of Human Performance at EMUNI University. But this opportunity became so much more than just academic.
The first thing I noticed about Slovenia was the quiet. The kind of quiet that feels safe. For the first time in years, I could walk down the street and feel at ease. Just the sea, the wind, and a deep sense of peace. Piran, the town where I study, is like something out of a painting with warm people, and sunsets that remind you beauty still exists in the world.
At EMUNI, I’m a student, a peer, and a future professional. My professors treat me with respect. My classmates come from different backgrounds, and we learn from one another. For the first time in a long time, I feel seen for who I am not just where I come from. I’ve started dreaming again, planning again, living again.
Student life here is gentle and rich. I’ve joined sports activities, made friends over coffee, and walked along the coast just to clear my mind.
Slovenia gave me space to heal. EMUNI gave me tools to rebuild. Day by day, I’m writing a new chapter—one filled with education, community, and hope.
To anyone who still wonders if they should come to slovenia and study at EMUNI, I would encourage them and prepare them for a life changing opportunity.
