Gal Pastirk, LL.M. is employed as a research assistant at EMUNI University, where he is engaged in academic and research activities in the field of European and comparative legal studies. He is currently a doctoral student at the Faculty of Law, University of Maribor. He holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the Faculty of Law, University of Maribor, awarded in 2024. His master’s thesis, entitled Governance and Regulation of Data in EU Law: An Analysis of the Data Act, examined the evolving EU legal framework for data governance, with a particular focus on regulatory responses to digital transformation. His research interests include commercial and corporate law, corporate governance, European Union law, digital technology law, and sustainability law, with an emphasis on legal and regulatory challenges arising from digitalisation and data governance in the EU. During his studies, he gained practical legal experience through work and internships at law firms and acquired insight into judicial practice through faculty-based projects and applied academic activities. He has participated in numerous national and international scientific conferences and has been involved in several national and international research projects. His academic work addresses contemporary legal issues through rigorous legal analysis combined with a broader interdisciplinary perspective.
