Ocean Literacy Day

EUNIcoast Ocean Literacy Day is a vibrant educational event dedicated to fostering awareness and curiosity about the ocean among students and children. Organised by EMUNI University in collaboration with several regional and international partners, the event combines science, creativity, and hands-on learning to inspire the next generation of ocean advocates.
During the day participants explore key themes in marine research, ocean science, and the blue economy. Through engaging activities and demonstrations, students can discover how ecosystems function, how human activities affect marine life, and how responsible innovation can support sustainable ocean use. Scientists, educators, and environmental experts guide the sessions, sharing real-world examples of research and solutions shaping the future of our seas.
Alongside the workshops, an exhibition showcases innovative projects and interactive displays, encouraging participants to reflect on the interconnectedness between the ocean and everyday life. The event aims not only to educate but also to cultivate creativity, teamwork, and critical thinking. Through EUNIcoast Ocean Literacy Day, EMUNI University reinforces its mission to promote marine awareness, sustainability, and youth engagement across the Euro-Mediterranean region.
