At an international conference in Sarajevo on 30 October 2025, held within the Erasmus+ COWEB project on virtual collaborative learning in the Western Balkans, EMUNI presented three Erasmus+ initiatives that advance leadership in higher education:
MORHEL (Morocco): Strengthening leadership capacities to drive institutional quality and innovation.
LEADHEGA (Georgia & Azerbaijan): Building academic leadership skills for modern governance and student-centred learning.
MED.HELA (Algeria & Tunisia): Developing leadership frameworks to support curriculum reform and pedagogical excellence.
Speakers highlighted how effective leadership accelerates pedagogical innovation, supports digital transformation, and fosters regional cooperation across partner universities.
Key takeaway: investing in leadership—at the level of people, processes, and policy—creates the conditions for innovative teaching and sustainable institutional change.
