EMUNI University Co-Organizes the 1st International Congress “Man in Motion”

EMUNI University co-organized the 1st International Congress “Man in Motion.” Building on the 25-year legacy of the “Child in Motion” conference, this landmark event brought together top researchers, experts, and stakeholders from more than 13 countries to explore the science of human movement and its impact on health and quality of life.

Held under the honorary patronage of the Slovenian Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, the congress featured over 70 presentations covering kinesiology, sports science, health, and technology. Participants explored interdisciplinary approaches to human movement across all life stages—from childhood development to healthy ageing—and examined the role of technology in enhancing research, rehabilitation, and preventive care.

Key topics of the congress included:

  • Childhood and Adolescence: Exploring the impact of movement on physical, cognitive, and social development, and addressing the challenges of sedentary lifestyles in the digital age.

  • Healthy Ageing: Presenting sustainable strategies to maintain vitality, mitigate the effects of ageing, and promote long-term public health.

  • Advanced Health Technologies: Showcasing innovations such as mobile brain imaging and extended reality (XR) for diagnostics, rehabilitation, and preventive programs.

  • Physical Activity vs. Inactivity: Highlighting the global health risks of inactivity and its connection to non-communicable diseases.

The congress also celebrated young researchers with the “Santorio Santorio” award, recognizing the most promising contributions to the field. The award ceremony featured winners from institutions across Europe, including Germany, Slovenia, and Italy.

The congress concluded as an inspiring platform for collaboration, innovation, and interdisciplinary dialogue, reaffirming that movement is a vital thread connecting us across all ages and life contexts. EMUNI University is proud to have contributed to this important international initiative and looks forward to future collaborations in research, education, and innovation.
