Study Programme: INTERCULTURAL BUSINESS COMMUNICATION

Type of study programme: Master’s, Second cycle

Admission requirements

  • At least 3 year’s Bachelor’s degree (first cycle, 180 ECTS) or equivalent;
  • At least 16 ECTS or equivalent in courses related to economics, business, management or marketing
  • English language proficiency at advanced level (C1 CEFR level)
  • Second language at intermediate level (B1 CEFR)

Candidates who do not meet criteria in point 2 must pass following bridging exams prior to enrolment: Management and Leadership (8 ECTS) and Marketing in Small and Medium Enterprises (8 ECTS).

Admission to the first year of study is granted to the applicants who have completed a comparable education abroad and have been, in the process of recognition of their qualification and in accordance with Assessment and Recognition of Education Act, granted the right to continue their studies at the study programme.

In case of enrolment limitation, the candidates will be selected based on their GPA from their previous degree.

The relevant proof of compliance for English language proficiency:

  • Certificate of C1 level (CEFR) of equivalent certificate (IELTS score 7.0 – 8.0, Cambridge FCE 180 – 199 , TOEFL IBT 95 – 120
  • A bachelor degree at a programme conducted in English language and a statement of the higher education institution the candidate completed the programme in English language.

Candidates who are English native speakers and candidates who completed the studies in countries where English is the language of instruction are considered as fulfilling the English language proficiency and do not need to provide proof of compliance.

The EMUNI University reserves the right to test the candidates’ language knowledge if, during the application process, EMUNI finds that the English language proficiency is not at the required level.

The above provisions also apply for the second language proficiency at B1 level (the candidate can also provide a statement of a second language such as native language).

TRANSFERRING BETWEEN STUDY PROGRAMMES:

Transferring between study programmes is possible according to the Higher Education Act, Criteria for transferring between study programmes and other regulations of this field.

Transferring between study programmes is granted to candidates, provided that the following conditions are met:

  • the candidate fulfils the admission requirements for the study programme;
  • study programmes ensure the acquisition of comparable competences or study outcomes;
  • at least half of the obligations under the European Transferable Credit System (ECTS) from the first study programme relating to the compulsory courses of the master’s degree programme may be recognized according to the criteria for recognition of knowledge and skills acquired prior to enrolment in the programme.

 

Applications for transferring between study programmes are considered by the competent Commission. In accordance with the Criteria for transferring between study programmes the Commission takes into account the comparability between study programmes and study obligations the candidate has completed in the previous study programme, that can be recognized in this study programme.

For the transfer the candidate must provide the syllabus for all the courses from the previous study programme in English language.

In case of enrolment limitation the candidates are selected according to the GPA from their bachelor studies.

Study Programme: KINESIOLOGY OF HUMAN PERFORMANCE

Admission requirements

  1. a completed first cycle degree (180 ECTS, 3 year’s Bachelor’s degree) or equivalent in the field of sports, kinesiology or health sciences; or
  2. A completed previous higher education professional study programme (programmes adopted before 11/06/2004) in related professional fields (Sports, Kinesiology or Health Sciences); or
  3. A completed study programme equivalent in duration and scope to the programmes referred to points a) or b) in other professional fields. The candidate must pass bridge exams in Physiology (6 ECTS), Biomechanics (6 ECTS) and Theory and sports training (6 ECTS) prior to enrolment.  
  4. English language proficiency at upper intermediate level (B2 CEFR level).

 

Admission to the first year of study is granted to the candidates who have completed a comparable education abroad and have been, in the process of recognition of their qualification and in accordance with Assessment and Recognition of Education Act, granted the right to continue their studies at the study programme.

Admission requirements

  1. a completed first cycle degree (180 ECTS, 3 year’s Bachelor’s degree) or equivalent in the field of Philosophy and Ethics, Political Science, Business and Administrative Sciences, Law, Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), Social Sciences, Journalism and Information Science; or
  2. A completed previous higher education professional study programme (programmes adopted before 11/06/2004) in related professional fields (Philosophy and Ethics, Political Science, Business and Administrative Sciences, Law, Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), Social Sciences, Journalism and Information Science); or
  3. A completed study programme equivalent in duration and scope to the programmes referred to points a) or b) in other professional fields. The candidate must complete study requirement of 10 ECTS in the form of an admission interview of the basics of digitalisation and human rights prior to enrolment.
  4. English language proficiency at upper intermediate level (B2 CEFR level)

 

Admission to the first year of study is granted to the candidates who have completed a comparable education abroad and have been, in the process of recognition of their qualification and in accordance with Assessment and Recognition of Education Act, granted the right to continue their studies at the study programme.

The relevant proof of compliance for English language proficiency:

  • Certificate of B2 level (CEFR) of equivalent certificate (IELTS score 5.5 – 6.5, Cambridge FCE 160 – 179, TOEFL IBT 72 – 94

In case of enrolment limitation, the candidates will be selected based on their GPA from their previous degree – 70% and grade from the thesis – 30%. If the previous study did not include a thesis only the GPA of the previous studies will be taken into account.

* If the number of applicants/admitted candidates will be lower than the number of offered enrolment places the second and third application periods will be open.

As submitted in due time qualify application which was filled in and submitted electronically on the eVŠ portal with all supporting documents showing compliance with the admission requirements by the application deadline.

Documents required for the admission procedure

Along with the application the candidate also provides evidence of compliance with the enrolment conditions.

Applicants must submit the following documents:

  1. Degree certificate: an e-copy or photograph of the bachelor’s degree certificate in original language – mandatory document,
  2. Transcript of records: an e-copy or photograph of the Transcript of records of previous studies which includes a GPA in original language or Diploma Supplement in English language – mandatory document,
  3. English language certificate: an e-copy or photograph of the proof of English language skills (B2 or C1 level depending on study programme) – mandatory document,
  4. Second language certificate: an e-copy or photograph of the proof of a second language skills (B1 level) or personal statement of native language proficiency. – mandatory document for applicants enrolling in the Intercultural Business Communications study programme ,
  5. Official English translation of Degree certificate and Transcript of records: – mandatory documents if the documents were issued in original language other than Slovenian, Croatian, Italian or English. The candidate must provide official translation into English language in addition to the submitted documents in original language.
  6. A short chronological description of education: a short chronological description of the entire education, obtained by the candidate (written by the candidate) in English, use the form published at EMUNI website – mandatory document if the degree certificate was not issued in Slovenia
  7. A copy of an identification document: a copy of an identification document with photograph which proves citizenship, EU citizens submit copy of ID card, non-EU citizens submit a copy of passport. – mandatory document

 

For enrolment in the second year (transferring students – Intercultural Business Communication and Kinesiology of Human Performance programmes) – the candidate must submit the following documents in addition to those listed above:

  1. e-copies of syllabi (approved by the issuing higher education institution) – mandatory document.

Applicants must submit all the supporting documents within the application deadline or the application will be rejected according to the General Administrative Procedure Act, Article 67 (Official Gazette of RS No. 24/6 and amendments).

Scanned documents or photographs of original certificates and other required documents are considered as proof that the enrolment conditions in the application and admission procedure have been met.

Information about recognition of foreign education

Applicants who have completed their studies in other EU countries or non-EU countries (other than Slovenia) and who (in accordance with the Assessment and Recognition of Education Act in Slovenia) have been granted the right to continue their studies in an individual study programme in the process of recognizing foreign education, may also enrol in master’s study programmes.

Candidate who has completed studies abroad proves fulfilment of the conditions for enrolment in the study programme by submitting an already obtained decision of recognition or by applying for obtaining a decision on the recognition of education obtained abroad.

IMPORTANT

For applicants with a foreign degree certificate, who do not have a decision on recognition of education yet, the application for enrolment is also considered as an application for the recognition of foreign education. Applicants must fill out the section in the application regarding the recognition of foreign education and submit all supporting documents stated in the Call for enrolment.

The authenticity of the diploma certificate will be checked at the issuer of the original document or at the competent authority of the country of origin of the document. If the Admissions Office is unable to confirm the authenticity of the document, the candidate will be asked to send the original document/s of completed education abroad, legalized according to regulations and country of origin.

The University Admissions Office may require the applicants to submit additional documents during the recognition process.

An official decision on recognition of foreign education will be issued and posted on the eVS portal before the admission or rejection of the application.

Bridging exams prior to enrolment

Graduates from unrelated study fields, enrolling in the first year of studies must complete additional exams stated (bridging program) in the section “Admission requirements” prior to enrolment in the study programme. Applicants are advised to submit the application for enrolment as soon as possible and apply for the prerequisite exam. Information about content of the prerequisite exams and exam dates will be published on the EMUNI website.

Applicants who need to complete prerequisite exams in order to fulfil the admission requirements for enrolment in the study programme should be aware that in case of limited enrolment in the first application period, candidates are selected among the applicants who have fulfilled all admission requirements on the day of the application deadline.

Recognition of knowledge and skills

Applicants who have already completed courses with content from the prerequisite exams (bridging programme) during a previous degree programme can apply for recognition of these courses. The application with the relevant evidence must be submitted to EMUNI skills by the application deadline.

Applicants may also apply for recognition of knowledge and skills acquired prior to enrolment through various forms of formal and/or informal education. To this end, they may submit an application to EMUNI University after enrolling in the degree programme. The application must be accompanied by a transcript of records, course syllabi and/or other documents proving the content, scope and complexity of the education.

Tuition and fees

Tuition fees and other study fees are determined in the Pricelist, accepted by the Managing Board of EMUNI University. The Pricelist is published on the University website.

All applicants pay an application fee in the amount of 120,00 EUR.

All admitted candidates, regardless of nationality pay enrolment fee and tuition fee for master’s study programmes at EMUNI.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

Applicants submit an electronic application on the eVŠ web portal https://portal.evs.gov.si/prijava/ using an electronic identification with at least a high level of security (with a qualified digital certificate, smsPASS or electronic identity), with an AAI account (Authentication and Authorization Infrastructure account) or with a username and password via the SI-PASS system operated as part of the Trust Service Authority. Select the English language on the bottom left side of the website.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR COMPLETING AND SUBMITTING THE APPLICATION on the eVS web portal in English language are published on the following website: http://portal.evs.gov.si/information-in-english, scroll down to the headline “How to fill in an application for 2nd and 3rd cycle study programmes”).

After successful submission of the application, the applicant will receive a confirmation of successful submission to the email address provided in the enrolment application. If the applicant does not receive this confirmation, the application has not been submitted successfully.

In the application and admission procedures for the 2025/2026 academic year, applicants submit all supporting documents required for the application electronically via the eVŠ portal.

Applicants are required to check the e-mail address provided in the enrolment application and on the eVŠ web portal, as communication and any requests to complete the enrolment application will be made via this channel. Applicants must verify the validity of the e-mail address provided in the application.

Applicants for enrolment in Master’s degree programmes at EMUNI University may submit a maximum of two (2) applications  for enrolment in the degree programme in which they wish to enrol and for which they meet or will meet the admission requirements within the deadlines published with this call. Each complete submission of an electronic application in the eVŠ web portal is considered an application.

Applicants who submits an incomplete application for enrolment or application for recognition of education for the purpose of continuing education will be additionally informed individually in writing or electronically via the eVŠ portal about the requirement and the deadline for completing the application. If the applicant did not submit all the requested documents by the application deadline the application will be rejected.

  • first step: get and smsPASS or electronic identity, register as new user
  • second step: select language and citizenship,
  • third step: select the master’s programmes, second cycle and Private higher education institution
  • fourth step: select Call for Enrolment of the EURO-MEDITERRANEAN UNIVERSITY
  • fifth step: enter personal data, permanent residence, and address for notifications,
  • sixth steps: write information about previous education,
  • seventh step: select desired study programme,
  • eighth step: upload relevant documents,
  • and lastly, review and submit the application electronically.

 

Important!

  • After successful submission of the application, the applicant will receive a confirmation of successful submission to the email address provided in the enrolment application. If the applicant does not receive this confirmation, the application has not been submitted successfully.
  • When a submitted document is reviewed by the Admission Office and it is accepted this will show in your application.
  • If the document is not accepted you will receive an email with further instructions how to comply with the requirements.

 

After the application deadline applicants receive either an admission letter and invitation for enrolment or a rejection letter on the eVS portal. 

OFFICIAL NOTIFICATIONS

The University Admissions Office will send all official notifications, admissions, rejections, etc. concerning the application and enrolment to the applicant electronically on the eVS portal in accordance with Article 40 of the Higher Education Act.

The applicant will be notified by email of the new document deposited electronically on the portal.

When the document is delivered via the eVS portal, the applicant confirms receipt of the document electronically.

The date of the electronic confirmation of delivery is considered to be the date of delivery of the document.

If the document is not delivered or confirmed by the applicant within five days of receipt of the e-mail notification of the electronically deposited document, the document is considered to have been delivered after this period has expired.
