Prof. Dr. Bohinc and Prof. Dr. Biloslavo visited the European Parliament in Brussels to attend a key meeting with Prof. Romano Prodi, Joan Borrell, Deputy Secretary General for Higher Education and Research at the Union for the Mediterranean, and Marcello Scalisi, Director of the Mediterranean Universities Union (UNIMED) and other representatives of the Parliament. The meeting focused on the ambitious project to create a Mediterranean University with joint centers offering academic autonomy and equal representation from both regions. Students would split their studies between campuses on both shores, with programmes focused on non-controversial subjects like medicine, agriculture, and economics.
This initiative aims to strengthen higher education cooperation, promote intercultural dialogue, and support regional stability through joint academic programs and mobility opportunities for students, researchers, and academics.
