EMUNI Strengthens Ties with Egyptian Universities

EMUNI University continues to strengthen its international academic partnerships across the Mediterranean region through a high-level visit to Alexandria University in Egypt, aimed at expanding collaboration in higher education, scientific research, innovation, and intercultural exchange.

The EMUNI delegation, led by Prof. Dr. Rado Bohinc, President of EMUNI University was welcomed by Prof. Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim, Acting President of Alexandria University, together with senior representatives from Egyptian universities and academic institutions.

The meeting brought together distinguished academic leaders, including representatives from Alamein International University, the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, and several former presidents and senior officials of Alexandria University, highlighting the strategic importance of Euro-Mediterranean cooperation in higher education and research.

During the meeting, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim reaffirmed Alexandria University’s commitment to enhancing cooperation with EMUNI University and emphasized the value of the university’s participation within EMUNI’s international network of partner institutions supported by the Union for the Mediterranean.

In addition, opportunities related to Erasmus mobility programmes, scholarships for students from North Africa and the Middle East, and EMUNI’s specialized research centres focusing on sustainability, environmental issues, Arab heritage, and Middle Eastern studies were presented.

The visit also included institutional presentations by Alexandria University, Alamein International University, the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, and several specialized academic and cultural centres.

This meeting represents another important step in strengthening Euro-Mediterranean academic integration and advancing EMUNI’s mission of fostering collaborative education, research excellence, intercultural dialogue, and sustainable development across the region.
