The SKILLBRIDGE project addresses the challenges migrants face in having their skills, acquired outside the EU, recognized and validated. By developing innovative validation tools, the project enables individuals to present their competences to employers even before arriving in the host country, promoting greater inclusion and diversity in the labor market. A key focus is the recognition of soft skills—such as communication, adaptability, and collaboration—for which SKILLBRIDGE is developing standardized assessment criteria based on meta-analysis and field testing.
At EMUNI University, we have up to now contributed by preparing the National overview for Slovenia on soft skills validation among migrants and the EU-wide Synthesis Report summarizing findings from six countries with performing meta-analysis on validation approaches along with recommendations for a soft skills validation framework. These outcomes will inform the next phases of the project, including the development of digital tools and policy guidance.
