From 2 to 3 September 2024, EMUNI’s Vice President, Roberto Biloslavo, and the Head of the EMUNI Network, Polona Oblak, participated in the Bled Strategic Forum. During the event, they engaged in several high-level bilateral meetings.
In their discussion with H.E. Nasser Kamel, Secretary General of the Union for the Mediterranean, they explored UfM’s support for the Euro-Mediterranean Students’ Empowerment Fund (EMSEF) initiative. They also met with H.E. Karim Amellal, French Ambassador and Interministerial Delegate for the Mediterranean, to discuss EMUNI’s collaboration with French universities and to present the EMSEF initiative.
Additionally, the EMUNI representatives met with the UNHCR team, including Ms. Nicole Epting, Regional Representative of UNHCR, Ms. Romana Zidar, Representative of UNHCR Slovenia, and Ms. Ryan Lindsay Corbett, Representative of UNHCR Turkey. Together, they agreed on the implementation of the pilot project “Education Pathway Initiative,” which will facilitate the enrollment of five Syrian students with asylum in Turkey into EMUNI’s master’s program in “Kinesiology of Human Performance.”
The EMUNI team also conducted meetings with Slovenian business leaders who are potential donors to the EMUNI scholarship fund.
