The Euro-Mediterranean University (EMUNI) is proud to be a full partner in the newly awarded CreaTech project, funded under the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) Higher Education Institutions (HEI) Initiative.
CreaTech aims to establish a distributed innovation ecosystem to foster entrepreneurship and innovation within the Cultural and Creative Industries (CCIs) across Europe. Anchored in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), the initiative connects students, graduates, researchers, and industry professionals with leaders in the cultural and creative sectors. eit-hei.eu
Project Objectives
CreaTech pursues four primary objectives:
- Strengthen HEI Capacity: Provide tailored training and mentorship for academic and non-academic staff, fostering institutional change and entrepreneurship.
- Equip Aspiring Entrepreneurs: Offer students and aspiring entrepreneurs the skills and resources to develop, launch, and grow start-ups in the CCIs.
- Enhance Collaboration: Promote knowledge exchange among HEIs, start-ups, and stakeholders in the creative industries.
- Support Start-Ups: Provide structured training, mentorship, and networking opportunities to help cultural start-ups transform ideas into viable businesses and scale their operations effectively.
EMUNI’s Role
EMUNI will lead the Start-Up Booster Programme, providing tailored mentoring, training, and networking opportunities for emerging creative entrepreneurs in the Euro-Mediterranean region. This activity complements EMUNI’s ongoing mission to foster intercultural dialogue and sustainable development through academic excellence and innovation.

Project Timeline and Funding
Duration: 25 months
Phase 1 Funding: €540,000
Phase 2 Funding: €800,000 (Phase 2 funding is subject to the successful completion of Phase 1 activities and the EIT’s approval of the 2026-2027 Grant Agreement.)
