On 25 September 2026, EMUNI University hosted the 4th regular session of the Rectors’ Conference of the Republic of Slovenia in Koper. The meeting addressed key topics related to higher education, research, cooperation and the internationalisation of Slovenian universities.
A central item was EMUNI’s proposal for cooperation with Slovenian universities in the field of internationalisation, presented by President Prof. Dr. Rado Bohinc.
EMUNI also proposed an amendment to Article 20 of the Higher Education Act (ZViS-1), which would explicitly allow international university associations to supplement their staffing, infrastructure and other capacities through cooperation agreements with higher education and research organisations, while remaining fully responsible for the quality and delivery of their study programmes.
The proposal aims to provide a clearer legal framework for international university cooperation and support the further internationalisation of Slovenian higher education.
