The MakeLearn conference took place in Piran (Slovenia) from 15 to 17 May and looked at a number of topics grouped under the title “Thriving on future education, industry, business and society”. Representatives of EMUNI cooperated on a number of panels related to academic leadership, publishing and social responsibility of Universities.
EMUNI President, Prof. Dr. Abdelhamid El-Zoheiry, welcomed high level guests and participants at the Opening of the MakeLearn-TIIM International Conference.
He later presented his views on the future skills for graduates in the Euro-Mediterranean area and the world in the framework of the high-level Academic Leadership Forum, moderated by Prof. Dr. Dušan Lesjak.
In the framework of the Editors Panel, Prof. Dr. Abdelhamid El-Zoheiry, President of the Euro-Mediterranean University, presented EMUNI’s International Journal of Euro-Mediterranean studies (IJEMS), its contents, key features and invited all interested authors from relevant fields of study to cooperate by submitting their individual scientific articles.
EMUNI’s Communications, Outreach and Externa Affairs Manager, Ms. Špela Majcen Marušič, participated at the discussion of the Research-Education-Business Forum, entitled “The role that universities play to promote inclusive society for our better future” which discussed the imbalance between the theory and practice of the activities in the universities and their social responsibility and whether universities also have an obligation to serve the wider society. This session was moderated by Prof. Dr. Nada Trunk Širca.
