Inauguration of EKIC Tunisia

On May 7th, 2025, EMUNI University proudly marked the launch of the EMUNI Knowledge & Innovation Centre (EKIC) in Tunisia with a special event hosted at the University of Sousse. This important milestone reflects EMUNI’s growing commitment to building bridges between academia and industry in the Euro-Mediterranean region. The event was honoured by the presence of Ambassador Hatem Atallah, member of EMUNI’s Management Board, and brought together key institutional figures including the President of the University of Sousse, all deans of its faculties and institutions, the Vice President of EMUNI Prof. Roberto Biloslavo, and EMUNI alumna and PR & Outreach Manager, Emna Jbara.

The morning session was centred around students and academic exchange. After the official speeches by the President of the University of Sousse, EMUNI’s representative, and the formal introduction of the EKIC Centre, participants enjoyed a dynamic presentation on academic opportunities available at EMUNI University in Slovenia. Students, directors, and deans were introduced to EMUNI’s unique international programmes, research activities, and its mission to connect Mediterranean youth through quality education. The session concluded with an open discussion and proposal round, where attendees shared ideas for future academic cooperation and mobility.

In the afternoon, the focus shifted to entrepreneurship and professional networking during the EMUNI Business Club session. The gathering brought together representatives from public and private sectors, start-ups, student entrepreneurs, and NGOs. The EMUNI team presented the goals and activities of the Business Club and explored potential collaborations between Tunisian stakeholders and EMUNI’s broader network. A roundtable discussion followed, providing a platform for exchanging ideas on innovation, industry-academia synergy, and joint initiatives.

This full-day event reinforced EMUNI University’s role as a forward-looking institution, dedicated to fostering innovation, academic excellence, and collaboration across borders. The launch of EKIC in Tunisia is a strong step toward deepening EMUNI’s engagement in the region and empowering the next generation of students and entrepreneurs.
