The Euro-Mediterranean University (EMUNI) had the pleasure of hosting Deputy Chief Financial Officer of the University of Tunis (VUT), Hatem Hedhili, from 8-14 May, 2022 on an Erasmus+ staff training mobility.
EMUNI, as coordinator, and VUT already work closely on the Erasmus+ capacity building project The MEDiterranean countries: Towards Internationalisation at Home (MED2IaH), and therefore, the visit proved highly useful in facilitating further face-to-face engagement regarding this ambitious project.
Mr. Hedhili was introduced to the Education Department, where he met with EMUNI´s Alenka Breznik to gain a better understanding of the University´s programmes, and Karen Gladovič, to discuss the approach of EMUNI and Slovenian universities in general to the field of Quality Management in terms of assessment, the collection of feedback and the creation of curricula.
The mobility coincided with EMUNI´s Blues Summer School on Fisheries and Acquaculture in the Blue Economy, during which Mr. Hedhili was able to join students on a visit to the aquarium in Piran and on a field trip to Strunjan Nature Reserve.
Mr. Hedhili´s time at EMUNI proved enlightening for both institutions, facilitating a comparison and better understanding of how both universities approach areas within higher education, and to social and intercultural competences, civic engagement through formal and non-formal learning activities, and blended learning.
