EMUNI University and ZRS Koper to Present Initiative for European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation (EGTC)

EMUNI University and the Science and Research Centre Koper (ZRS Koper) will host a presentation and signing of a letter of intent for the establishment of a European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation (EGTC), aimed at strengthening long-term institutional cooperation among key stakeholders of the Northern Adriatic region and the wider Euro-Mediterranean area.

The initiative represents an important step toward creating a strategic platform for knowledge exchange, research, innovation and stronger links with the economy, while also fostering deeper cross-border collaboration with institutions from Italy and Croatia. 

The event will also be attended by the Slovenian Minister for Cohesion and Regional Development, Dr Aleksander Jevšek

During the meeting, EMUNI and ZRS Koper will present the objectives of the EGTC initiative and highlight successful cross-border projects carried out with partners from Italy and Croatia, demonstrating the region’s potential to develop into a leading innovation ecosystem in the Mediterranean macro-region. 

The event will bring together representatives of municipalities, regional institutions, development agencies, business organizations and public institutions from the region to discuss opportunities for stronger institutional cooperation and more effective access to European funding.
