Closing conference of the MEDHUB project “Studying the Euro-Mediterranean” held in Barcelona, Spain

27 February 2020. EMUNI University successfully held the closing conference of the Mediterranean Hub for Knowledge, a Jean Monnet Project financed by the Erasmus+ programme, in Barcelona, Spain.

In the span of 18 months, through the MEDHUB project EMUNI University managed to organize an opening conference, 5 workshops on various themes relevant to the Mediterranean region and the closing conference.

The topics that were covered had a focus on migration studies, societies and cultures, values and religions, applied sciences and technologies in support of healthy and active lifestyles, and the economies of the Mediterranean.

The main goal of the project was to discuss and develop the EU’s engagement in the Euro-Mediterranean region on the one hand and generating interest in the EU’s activities by the youth, on the other hand. MEDHUB project managed to reinforce the link between academia and policymakers, North and South Mediterranean, and engaged the youth in identifying and addressing most topical issues of societal and political relevance.

The aim of the Final Conference was to disseminate the key conclusions of the workshops as well as it had a multi-fold purpose to provide networking opportunities for participants so that they  can interact and exchange ideas in order to fully contribute to strengthen the curricula of the Euro-Mediterranean studies.
