Within the framework of the International Scientific Conference EM-HERI 2026, held on 23 June 2026 in Tunis, Tunisia, and organized by EMUNI University, the Erasmus+ project MORHEL was presented to an international academic audience.
The project was featured in the conference contribution entitled “Leadership Development in Higher Education: Insights from Erasmus+ Initiatives in South Mediterranean and Neighboring Regions,” presented by Dorsaf Ben Malek.
The presentation highlighted the critical importance of leadership development in higher education and showcased several Erasmus+ projects that have contributed to strengthening governance, innovation and institutional transformation across different regions. Particular attention was given to structured and context-sensitive approaches to leadership development, especially in non-EU South Mediterranean countries. In this context, MORHEL was highlighted as an Erasmus+ initiative supporting the development of structured leadership programmes and strengthening institutional and national capacities for leadership development in Moroccan higher education.
The presentation also placed MORHEL alongside other Erasmus+ leadership initiatives in the South Mediterranean and neighbouring regions, demonstrating how competency-based and internationally informed approaches can contribute to institutional transformation, more effective governance, and sustainable development in higher education.
After the conference, the proceedings will also be published, further enhancing the project’s visibility.
