Following the successful organization of the EMUNI Annual Scientific Conference 2026 – EM-HERI 2026 in Tunis, H.E. Prof. Dr. Rado Bohinc, President of EMUNI University, held a strategic meeting with H.E. Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO); Prof. Dr. Mohammad Sanad Abu-Darwish, Director of the Science and Scientific Research Department at ALECSO; H.E. Ambassador Dr. Senén Florensa, General Director of the European Institute of the Mediterranean (IEMed); and Prof. Dr. Gemma Aubarell, Director of the Culture, Gender and Civil Society Department at IEMed.
The meeting followed the successful collaboration between EMUNI University, ALECSO, and IEMed in co-organizing EM-HERI 2026 in Tunisia, which brought together distinguished representatives from academia, international organizations, and public institutions to discuss the future of higher education, research, innovation, and sustainability in the Euro-Mediterranean region.
Building on this successful partnership, the meeting focused on reinforcing the cooperation between the three institutions, and defining the next steps for future joint initiatives. Discussions explored opportunities for expanding collaboration in scientific research, academic mobility, capacity building, and the development of new regional projects that contribute to strengthening Euro-Mediterranean cooperation.
