A Story of Growth, Discovery, and Belonging

Academic Experience at EMUNI

As I entered my graduation year, I look back with real gratitude on the past two years of study at EMUNI University. This academic journey has been one of the most rewarding chapters of my life. EMUNI offered more than lectures and exams—it offered a space for open dialogue, free thinking, and genuine exchange of ideas.

What I loved most was learning alongside students from many different countries. Every discussion felt like a window into another world. Hearing my classmates’ perspectives, shaped by their cultures and professional experiences, expanded my thinking far beyond textbooks. The professors encouraged this openness, making every class feel alive, respectful, and intellectually rich.

In 2025, I finally made the decision to come to Slovenia in person—and it turned out to be one of the best decisions I have ever made. Meeting my professors face to face and seeing classmates I had only known online was deeply meaningful. After years of studying, debating, and sharing articles virtually, those connections suddenly became real.

Student Life and Living in Slovenia

Living in Slovenia has been one of the richest experiences of my life. Before coming here, I had lived my entire life in Egypt and had never been abroad. Slovenia became my first destination—and I feel incredibly lucky that it did.

The environment here is simply beautiful: green, calm, and inspiring. The people are supportive, welcoming, and kind, which made the transition much easier.

During the summer, I lived in Piran for almost four months. That period was unforgettable. I met tourists from all over the world—Germany, France, Canada, the United States—and even an incredibly interesting traveler from Central Africa. Those conversations reminded me how much there is still to learn about the world, and how travel connects us in unexpected ways.

Cultural Experiences and Personal Reflections

Slovenia surprised me with its balance between nature, cleanliness, and history. It is a country that feels peaceful yet full of stories. I was especially touched when I heard about Slovenians who had lived and worked in Egypt in the past—it created a beautiful, unexpected bridge between my home country and this new one.

I had the chance to visit Bled, Sežana, Maribor, and many other places. Each city had its own character, landscapes, and rhythm, proving to me that Slovenia is small in size but incredibly rich in experiences.

A Chapter I Will Always Carry with Me

In the end, I can truly say that I am proud and happy to have lived this experience in Slovenia and at EMUNI University. It shaped me academically, culturally, and personally.

From my first time abroad to building international friendships and discovering a new way of life, this journey will always remain a special part of who I am. Slovenia was not just a place to study—it became a place to grow, reflect, and belong.
