Prof. dr. Jaka Vadnjal is Head of International Relations Department, researcher and a full professor in Entrepreneurship. Topics of his teaching and research are entrepreneurship and linked topics, family business management, managing growing business, business environment and business and managerial economics. He has presented at prominent research conferences including Babson, Kaufmann, ISBE, ISPIM, Rent etc. worldwide. Having published over forty papers in scientific journals and four chapters in scientific books, Prof. Dr. Vadnjal is also co-author of several text-books on entrepreneurship. As well as heading Academic Affairs at EMUNI, Prof. Dr. Vadnjal is also Managing Editor of the International Journal of Euro-Mediterranean Studies. He has experience holding several positions in mostly private higher education (dean, president of senate, director of research, teacher). He also has international experience in external quality assurance in higher education include membership of outside expert groups at the Croatian national accreditation agency AZVO, and ARACIS, the accreditation agency of Romania. Jaka Vadnjal was born in 1965 and graduated in mechanical engineering before gaining a Masters in entrepreneurship and a PhD from the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. He has been visiting professor at several foreign universities in Switzerland, Northern Macedonia, and Albania. He has years of teaching experience in higher education institutions, including classroom and online teaching as well as mentoring final theses on all three levels. At the end of 2019, he finished his mandate as CEO of a small bank, prior to which, he was dean at GEA College of Entrepreneurship, where he is elected full professor in entrepreneurship, teaching mostly courses related to entrepreneurship and small business management. He has been teaching there for more than two decades and managed and participated in several research, development and demonstration projects. He joined Emuni in 2023. From 2025, he is also a member of the Council of Slovene national accreditation agency NAKVIS.
