The final lecture of 2025—and the last academic lecture held at Emuni University’s former premises—took place on Friday, 19 December, at 11:30.
The lecture was delivered by Prof. Dr. Youssif Omar, a distinguished guest lecturer from the University of Benghazi, Libya, and was titled “Miscommunication in Business and Language as Culture.”
The event was attended by students from the first year, second year, and master’s thesis year of the Intercultural Business Communication (IBC) programme.
Guest lectures of this kind play a vital role in the IBC curriculum, as they enhance students’ understanding of how cultural differences influence language use, business practices, and communication styles. Addressing potential sources of miscommunication is particularly important for developing the competencies required for effective work in international and intercultural environments.
