EMUNI Publishing House Publishes Its First Scientific Monograph: Contemporary Sport Management: Theory and Application

The Euro-Mediterranean University (EMUNI) is proud to announce the publication of the scientific monograph Contemporary Sport Management: Theory and Application, edited by Prof. Ddr. Edvard Kolar and Dr. Petra Robnik Verdnik. This landmark publication represents the first official monograph of the newly established EMUNI Publishing House, marking a significant step forward in EMUNI’s strategic mission to strengthen academic publishing and scientific excellence across the Euro-Mediterranean region.

The scientific monograph brings together 14 distinguished authors from multiple countries and academic disciplines, and comprises 15 comprehensive chapters structured across three major thematic parts:

I. PART: BASIC THEORETICAL CONCEPTS IN SPORT MANAGEMENT
II. PART: APPLICATIVE ASPECTS OF SPORT MANAGEMENT
III. PART: OPERATIONAL ASPECTS OF SPORT MANAGEMENT

The publication offers a systematic, interdisciplinary, and comprehensive exploration of contemporary sport management, addressing key themes such as strategic and project management, good governance, human resource management, marketing, legal frameworks, sport tourism, dual career systems, public sport policies, and the impact of artificial intelligence on sport. The book’s structure, reflected in the Index and preview sections, demonstrates a carefully balanced approach that integrates theoretical foundations, applied research, and practical managerial insights.

The monograph includes expert reviews by distinguished scholars Prof. Dr. Gregor Jurak and Prof. Dr. Tomaž Čater from the University of Ljubljana and Prof. Dr. Marko Ferjan, from the University of Maribor, attesting to its academic rigor, contemporary relevance, and methodological depth. It also features endorsements from two prominent sport leaders—Mag. Damjan Kralj, CEO of BTC d.d. and President of Tennis Slovenia, and Dr. Farid Gayibov, Minister of Youth and Sport of the Republic of Azerbaijan and President of European Gymnastics—who emphasize the significance and timeliness of this work.

Sincere thanks go to BTC d.d. and Športna loterija d.d. for their support in sponsoring the first edition of Contemporary Sport Management: Theory and Application. Their contribution represents an important investment in the advancement of the sport management field and in strengthening vital connections between business, science, education, and sport.
