The Euro-Mediterranean University (EMUNI) has officially established the EMUNI Publishing House, a new strategic institutional arm designed to bridge academia, policy, and society across the Euro-Mediterranean region.
The EMUNI Publishing House will serve as a multilingual, policy-linked publisher of academic journals, Mediterranean book series, and project-driven dissemination outputs. Its portfolio will include the International Journal of Euro-Mediterranean Studies (IJEMS), as well as scholarly monographs, edited volumes, handbooks, and policy briefs linked to Horizon Europe, Erasmus+, ARIS, and other international projects.
Operating under the principles of Open Science, multilingual inclusivity, and financial sustainability, the Publishing House will ensure that EMUNI’s research and policy outputs are widely accessible and internationally visible. The initiative is fully aligned with EMUNI’s Strategy and Action Plan 2024–2029, reinforcing the University’s mission to act as a hub of knowledge, intercultural dialogue, and science diplomacy.
Pursuant to the decision of the EMUNI President Prof. Dr. Rado Bohinc and the Management Board, Asst. Prof. Dr. Petra Robnik Verdnik has been appointed Director of the EMUNI Publishing House. She will lead the implementation of the 2025–2029 Strategic and Financial Plan, which sets out ambitious goals to expand EMUNI’s publishing portfolio, enhance international indexing, and position EMUNI as a regional leader in academic and policy publishing.
With this initiative, EMUNI strengthens its international profile as a knowledge hub for the Euro-Mediterranean region, providing high-quality scholarly and policy-oriented publications that contribute to evidence-based decision-making and intercultural cooperation.
