Euro-Mediterranean University, Pristaniška ulica 14, Koper, on the basis of the Article 12 of the Rules of the Scholarship Fund of the Euro-mediterranean University (EMUNI) is issuing the following
PUBLIC CALL FOR APPLICATION FOR OBTAINING SCHOLARSHIPS – PARTIAL TUITION AWARD FROM THE EMUNI SCHOLARSHIP FUND FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2026/2027
The Scholarship Fund of the Euro-Mediterranean University (the Fund) is based on Donors, Fund partners and other legal entities together with EMUNI who have contributed funds. It aims to help EMUNI students to pursue their educational goals and to provide opportunities for their employment upon completion of their studies.
With this public call the EMUNI University invites all:
- candidates for enrolment in accredited EMUNI master and doctoral study programmes and
- students who are enrolled in accredited EMUNI study programmes (first time applicants for the Scholarship).
to apply for this public call and express their interest in joining the Fund.
Candidates for scholarship and partial tuition award express their interest in the public call by submitting an application. With inclusion in the Fund the selected candidates can gain the opportunity to conclude a one-year scholarship agreement. Scholarship agreements will be concluded between EMUNI and the candidate/ student with whom there is a mutual interest in the conclusion of the agreement.
Number of scholarships – partial tuition award available:
- first-year students up to 15
- second-year students up to 15
The amount of the scholarship – partial tuition award in the academic year 2026/2027 is a maximum of 2.500,00 Euros.
- Subject of the public call
The subject of this public call is the selection of scholarship – partial tuition award candidates for inclusion in the Fund for the academic year 2026/2027.
- Requirements for the inclusion of candidates for scholarship in the fund
The Fund programme includes:
- Candidates who have applied for enrolment in the first year of study programmes at EMUNI with a GPA of at least 8 on the scale from 1 to 10.
- Students already enrolled in the EMUNI study programme, who are first time applicants for the EMUNI scholarship, with a GPA of at least 8 on the scale from 1 to 10.
Candidates can be conditionally included into the Fund. The interest for the conditional inclusion into the Fund can be expressed by applying to this public call.
Conditional inclusion of candidates into the Fund means, that candidates are included into the fund under a suspensive condition, which is fulfilled when candidates complete the application with proof of successfully completed prior studies, by the date specified in the public call but not later than September 15th, 2026.
The fund programme conditionally includes:
Candidates who have applied for enrolment in the 1st year of an EMUNI study programme and did not complete all the obligations at the previous level of study, but their current average grade is higher than 8,50.
Students who are enrolled in the first year and did not yet complete all study obligations of the first year for required for advancement in the second year, but their current average grade is higher than 8,0.

Not eligible candidates for inclusion:
- Candidates who are employed or self-employed
- Candidate with a status of manager of a company or CEO of private institutions
- Recipients of other fellowships
3. Application to the public call
Candidates for the scholarship need to express their interest for the inclusion in the Fund by submitting the application form through the EMUNI website at the following link – application for scholarships. The application and supporting documents are submitted electronically.
The application must be accompanied by the following documents:
- Diploma certificate with a diploma supplement or official transcript of records showing grades and GPA and official grading scale.
- A statement by the candidate that he/she is not employed or self-employed.
- A statement by the candidate that he/she does not have a status of a company manager or CEO of a private institution.
- A statement by the candidate that he/she is not recipient of any other fellowships.
- Motivational letter.
- In case of sports achievements adequate evidence – valid proof of the athlete’s status
- Official statement of family income over last three years – for need-based candidates
- Certificate of recognised refugee status – if applicable
In the motivational letter (no more than 300 words) the candidate must indicate:
- What distinguishes the applicant from the other candidates,
- Professional goals and ambitions.
Any copy-paste motivational letters can be considered reason for exclusion from the list of eligible candidates.
If the candidate wishes to be assessed on the additional points from the field of foreign language skills, arts, extracurricular activities and international experience or research relevance (in case of PhD programme), he must enclose relevant evidence.
Students already enrolled at EMUNI, who are first time applicants for the EMUNI scholarship, submit the filled out application form, a motivational letter and supporting documents from point 6 to 8 if applicable, the Student Affairs Office will check the student’s GPA and determine if they are eligible to be included in the fund.
The criteria and condition for inclusion in the fund are set out in Article 8 through Article 11 of the Rules of the Scholarship Fund of the Euro-mediterranean University EMUNI which is accessible on the EMUNI website.
Selection process
The 1st application deadline is from 21 April to 15 June 2026.
The 2nd application deadline is from 1 September to 15 September 2026
– provided that in the previous application round all scholarships were not awarded.
The application is submitted in due time, if it is submitted before or on the last day of the application deadline (proven by the date stamp in the submitted application form) in the link – application for scholarships
The opening of the applications is not public and is carried out by the Trustee of the Fund. The opening is done at receiving the application in real time, no later than eight days (8) after the submission of an individual application.
The Trustee of the Fund, after reviewing of the application, will write to those candidates who have submitted incomplete applications asking them to make additions. The supplements must be submitted within five days (5) of the invitation. The Trustee of the Fund will reject applications that are not completed within the requested deadline. The Trustee of the Fund shall keep a record of the opening of applications and included candidates. The proposal for admission or rejection of the candidates is sent for deliberation to the Scholarship Fund Administrative Board. Upon completion of the procedure, the Trustee of the Fund will inform candidates and students about inclusion in the fund.
The awarded scholarship can only be used for the enrolment in a degree study programme at EMUNI.
A candidate cannot have the right of inclusion in the fund if he previously acquired the right to join the fund but did not fulfil the obligations and was therefore excluded from the fund, or if his scholarship contract was terminated.
