MOBILITY TO ALGERIA FOR EMUNI PROFESSOR

The Euro-Mediterranean University (EMUNI) was delighted to have its Associate Professor, Neva Čebron PhD, spend a one-week Erasmus + mobility in Algeria from 22 – 29 January at the host institution, the University of Tlemcen. Prof. Čebron teaches English Culture on the Master´s Degree in Intercultural and Business Communication (IBC) at EMUNI.

During her mobility, she met with the Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, Dr. Hamza Cherif Ali, and his team, the Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Literature and Languages, Prof. Ghouti Hadjoui, and the Head of the English Department and of the International Relations Office, Mrs Salima Abi-Ayad to discuss opportunities for future cooperation.

Following a short introduction to the heads of all the language departments (French, Arabic, Spanish, Russian), Prof. Čebron also took part in a meeting with a group of teachers and researchers from the English Department to whom she gave a presentation on Multilingualism in the Slovene Coastal Region, as well as an overview of the most successful international projects she has been engaged in (CCBC, IEREST, PERMIT, LABICUM).

Over the course of the week, Prof. Čebron also delivered a lecture on the IBC Masters run by EMUNI, visited the library at the Faculty of Literature and Languages at the University of Tlemcen and finally met with one of EMUNI´s students from the University, Abdessalam Khedrougui, regarding his final thesis.

Since this was the first visit to the University of Tlemcen from a Slovene academic, the scope for future cooperation is broad.

Visits from the University of Tlemcen have been announced, which will potentially lead to more mobility exchanges and future projects.
