Maja Vranješ obtained her Master Degree in Italian Language and Literature from Belgrade University and specialised in Interpretation and Translation at University of Trieste obtaining her second Master Degree in Translation and Interpretation. Since 2019 she is pursuing a PHD at University of Koper, Study Program in Language and Interculturality. Her PHD project focuses on subtitling and its usage in translation and language teaching.

She has been teaching Translation and Interpretation from Italian to Serbian and Croatian for 14 years at University of Trieste, Department of Legal, Language, Interpreting and Translation Studies. She is a professional Interpreter and Translator working with English, Italian, Serbian and Croatian. Since 2016 she teaches Italian and Serbian language and culture at Serbian Orthodox Religious Community in Trieste.

She is especially interested in intercultural aspects of language teaching and in Audiovisual translation as a method for learning language and culture. She presented on conferences in Slovenia and Italy and followed more than 50 theses at University of Trieste.
