The Euro-Mediterranean University (EMUNI) is proud to launch Season 2 of the Euro-Mediterranean Innovation Camp (EMIC), a unique innovation competition and boot camp for youth in the region. EMIC Season 1 was a new venture for 2023, and Season 2 continues to aim to nurture innovation and creativity among 18–35-year-olds in the region.

Residents of the Euro-Mediterranean and within this age-group with a novel idea or invention that has the potential to be commercialised and could be converted to a prototype within 3 months can apply. The innovation must address one of the following three thematic areas: health, renewable energy, and environment (including climate change).

Whether the applicant is a high school graduate, in higher education, post-graduate, or employed, EMIC wants to hear from you – all that is needed are inventive minds with dynamic ideas! (and don´t forget a good command of English).

EMUNI and its partners, the Jožef Stefan Institute (JSI) in Slovenia and the EuroMed University of Fes (UEMF) in Morocco, are excited to be providing Euro-Mediterranean youth with the opportunity to think big and ultimately, make their ideas a reality. EMIC is supported by the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM), the Republic of Slovenia Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, and the Republic of Slovenia Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

EMIC Season 1 winner was 22 year-old Georgios Paliouras from Greece. Georgios´ innovation was focused on Renewable Energy, and featured an agrivoltaics (solar panels in agriculture) system that was intended to maximise both energy and crop production, while being affordable for the majority of producers. Georgios is studying for his degree in Agriculture – Plant Sciences at the Agricultural University of Athens, and finishes his studies in 2024.

EMIC is now accepting applications until 13 November at 23.59 CET. So don’t delay – apply with your innovation today!
