EMUNI WINTER VISIT TO MOROCCO

Tiuana Grlj, Financial Manager at the Euro-Mediterranean University (EMUNI), spent an exquisite week in Morocco from 10-17 December on an Erasmus+ staff training mobility. Hosted by EMUNI Inner Circle network member, Al Akhawayn University, in Ifrane, Tiuana was given a tour of the premises by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Karim Moustaghfir, who sits on the EMUNI Senate, which is regarded as the highest expert academic body of the university and responsible for overseeing all academic matters.

Al Akhawayn University boasts a state-of-the-art study and sports centre that includes tennis courts and an Olympic-sized swimming pool, as well as a restaurant. During her time there, Tiuana also gained an insight into the history and organisation of the University, from the students to the staff.

The mobility will strengthen ties and reinforce the cooperation that already exists between EMUNI and Al Akhawayn University, which is a partner in the EMUNI-led ongoing Erasmus+ capacity building project ´The MEDiterranean countries: Towards Internationalisation at Home´ (MED2IaH), the aim of which is to have an impact at system level and trigger reform processes at national level in Mediterranean Partner Countries.

Tiuana also visited Universite Moulay Ismail (UMI) in Meknes, which is approximately one hour from Ifrane. Like its Moroccan neighbour, UMI is also a partner in MED2IaH and will continue to work with EMUNI in the near future. At UMI, Tiuana was given a hospitable welcome and enjoyed meeting the staff, in particular from the International Office.
