Long-term member of the Euro-Mediterranean University (EMUNI) General Assembly (GA) and Inner Circle, Heliopolis University, has welcomed back EMUNI President, Professor Dr. Abdelhamid El-Zoheiry, for a second time on an Erasmus + teaching mobility.
The President was hosted by the Egyptian institution for six days from 20 July – 28 July, and returned due to popular demand following a series of lectures he delivered in April this year.
Within the framework of SEKEM Vision Goals (SVGs 2nd edition), the President delivered lectures on
– International Cooperation in Research and Innovation as tools for Intercultural Dialogue and Science Diplomacy
– From Creativity to Frugal Innovation: Towards a Common Euro-Mediterranean Innovation Agenda
– Lectures on Higher Education and Research Cooperation in the Euro-Mediterranean Region
SEKEM has been promoting sustainable development in Egypt since 1977 and works to sustainably transform Egypt’s ecological, economical, societal and cultural life, in collaboration with partners and networks. Heliopolis University for Sustainable Development was established under the umbrella of SEKEM in 2009 with the aim to pioneer the introduction of the concepts and principles of sustainable development to the students and the Egyptian community to improve well-being by decreasing threats to the Earth’s systems through industrialization and consumption.
