By plane

Koper can be reached from abroad through a number of international airports situated in its relative vicinity. Below are some useful options when planning your trip:

By train

Koper has a train station with regular rail connections to Ljubljana. You can check national and international train connections and timetables on the Slovenian Railways website: https://potniski.sz.si/en/

Alternatively, you may choose to travel by train to Trieste, Italy, and then continue to Koper by bus. Train schedules are available on the Italian railway company Trenitalia website: https://www.trenitalia.com/

By bus

Koper has a central bus station with regular connections to major cities. Several buses run daily to and from Ljubljana, and the journey takes around 2 hours. Timetables are available at the Ljubljana Bus Station: https://www.ap-ljubljana.si/en/

The Ronchi dei Legionari (Trieste) airport has excellent road and motorway connections and regular public bus transport lines. At the airport, take bus number 51 to the city of Trieste.

Walking and local mobility

For participants staying at Grand Koper or other central accommodation, walking is the easiest and most convenient way to move around the city centre. The pedestrian-friendly old town requires no additional transport once you arrive.

Parking options in Koper

Public parking is widely available in and around Koper. Because parts of the old town are closed to traffic, we recommend parking at designated facilities and walking into the centre.
