Prof. Dr. Nada Trunk Širca just completed a period of mobility in Egypt from the 13 to the 17 June in the framework of the Erasmus+ Capacity building in Higher Education (CBHE) project: Mediterranean countries: Towards Internationalisation at Home – MED2IaH.
During her mobility, the Professor had the opportunity to take part in actual gathering with partners of the project such as the Heliopolis University and the South Valley University. All parties have welcomed the possibility to meet in person after a strenuous collaboration through virtual meetings that lasted over a year.
Professor Trunk Širca and other members of the consortium could assess the current state of the project as well as planning its forthcoming phase. On the agenda were the logistical necessities of the project and upcoming visits and events, including one to be held in Slovenia in September.
Progress was made on identifying next steps for close collaboration on the Med2Iah project.
Furthermore, the opportunity for mobility boosted the motivation of all three partners universities and it proved itself once again as a significant tool to foster cultural understanding and driving closer professional connection.
This hopefully will bring about new possibilities for common research and teaching. During the intense workweek Prof. Trunk Širca met with Assistant to the Heliopolis University President for Academic Affairs & Internationalization Omar H. Eldahan, together with Dr Sigward von Laue and Yassmin Abass, of the International Office.
Likewise, at the South Valley University, the Professor met with President Prof. Youssef Ghrabawy and his predecessor Prof. Abbas Mansour, as well as other SVU staff like Prof. Ahmed Akkawy, Mahmoud Sayed and Mr Salah Ibrahim from the EU project unit.
