EMUNI STAFF COMPLETE TRAINING MOBILITY IN LEBANON

EMUNI’s efforts to foster academic cooperation across the Euro-Mediterranean region continue with a staff training mobility to Lebanon. Tiuana Grlj and Ana Šajn from EMUNI’s Financial Department were able to participate in a staff training session in Beirut from 24 to 28 of May, where they visited the Antonine University (UA).

Within the framework of Erasmus+ mobility training, our colleagues toured the beautiful campus of the UA and explored new avenues for cooperation with local academic institutions.

They were warmly welcomed by Yasmin Gharib from the Erasmus Neo office, with whom they had a productive meeting. During their stay, Tiuana and Ana had the opportunity to visit the Lebanese International University (LIU) and meet with the Dean of its Faculty of Education, Dr. Anwar Kawtharani.

Our EMUNI colleagues also met with Dr Rony Darazi, Vice Rector of the UA, to discuss the next steps of the EMUNI-led MED2IaH project. The MEDiterranean countries: Towards Internationalisation at Home (MED2IaH) project is primarily designed to have an impact at system level and trigger reform processes at national level in Mediterranean Partner Countries (PC), ultimately benefitting the whole Higher Education sector.

It would not be a true Erasmus+ experience if our colleagues did not have the opportunity to immerse themselves in local culture. As our own Ana Šajn said: ”Thanks to Erasmus+, I had the opportunity to get to know the culture of Lebanon, which will help me a lot regarding future cooperation with our Lebanese partners.”
